- Purpose
-
The purpose of the Norman DNA project is to expand our
genealogical research by confirming or disproving family lines
through DNA analysis testing.
We want to determine the descendants of the early Normans who
entered the colonies of Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts in
the 1600s and 1700s. Hopefully, we will discover the
relationships among the groups of Norman descendants scattered
over the North East, Middle Atlantic, South and Midwestern United
States up to about 1800. We invite all Normans, including those
of the British Isles, or lines with origins in the British Isles,
to participate in our DNA study. Perhaps by comparing Norman DNA
worldwide, we will be able to discern our lines in the United
States.
- Our First Goal
-
To produce a documented genealogical and DNA history of the Norman family from their entrance in the New World in the 1600s to about 1800.
- Objectives
-
To develop a network of participants who will:
- Become DNA donors
- Contribute to the Norman research
- Contribute toward the cost of DNA testing
- Provide analysis of DNA results
