The font in the heading of the page is Invasion LT, aka Bayeux LT,
from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
We use Scriptina, a free font by Apostrophe, on some of our internal pages.
We also use Type No.1 by Walden Fonts. This is a U.S. Civil War era newspaper
and broadsheet font.
The image at the top of the page is of a small portion of the Bayeux Tapestry.
The tapestry (technically it is an embroidery) depicts the Norman invasion of
England and the Battle of Hastings in 1066 A.D. The tapestry was
probably commissioned by Bishop Odo of Bayeux, William of Normandys half brother.
It was completed in 1077. It is 231 feet long and is on display at Bayeux in
Normandy, France.
